Note from our Librarian, Ms. Judy Viertel

ALL books are due back in the New Traditions Library by Friday, May 17!

Please check your shelves and under your children's beds for missing books.

If you have questions about how to deal with a missing book, please see the New Traditions Library Website: https://sites.google.com/sfusd.edu/newtraditionslibrary/our-library (this is new: bookmark it!).

You can also email our librarian directly: ViertelJ@sfusd.edu

Thank you!

Hooray! Results are in from our district survey (ahead of schedule)!!

Check out the attached three documents that contain the survey results. This survey, conducted by the school district each year, solicits feedback from students, staff, and families at New Traditions. This year we had the most family participation we’ve had in this survey in quite a while, so thank you for helping to make this data meaningful.

The school year is almost over - don’t forget to purchase your yearbook!

The New Traditions yearbook is a hardcover book with over 60 full-color pages, filled to the brim with photos of every student and the fun and memorable times we shared this year. It’s made with love all throughout the year by our very own Jon Michaelsen (Annika - 5th, Gemma - 3rd), and you can order it now for just $40!

If the cost is prohibitive, please talk to your child’s teacher or to Ms. Debbie. We want everyone to enjoy this one-of-a-kind bit of New Traditions history.

Online ordering not your thing? Complete a paper order form and pay by check or cash:

  • Make checks payable to Friends of New Traditions PTA (“yearbook” in memo)

  • Place form+payment in yellow yearbook box (by bulletin board in the school lobby)

Contact Jon Michaelsen, Yearbook Chair, with questions: jon@braincloud.tv or 415-308-3990

Time flies and here we are…very close to the end of the school year!

Join other parents/caregivers and Ms. Alderete for the last principal’s coffee of the school year.

Please bring some food to share if you can.

Some incoming families that could not come last month may be there. Let’s receive them with a warm welcome.

Thank you!

Greening Day #3

Saturday, June 1st 10am-2pm

(it’s like an open house - stop by anytime!)

Final Greening Day of this school year is coming up! We've gotten fantastic volunteers on past greening days to help weed, mulch, build, and get their hands dirty - let's do it one final time, so our plants are ready for the summer.

We’ll have something for everyone to do - or you can help oversee kids playing in the yard.

The event is from 10am-2pm, but even if you can only join for 30 minutes, please stop by!

Questions? Reach out to Lucia Wallace luciab@gmail.com.
