“The Earth, Our Community, and Me”
Thursday, April 25, 2019
6:00pm at Roosevelt MS
Doors open at 5:45pm
Teacher (and Staff) Appreciation Week is May 6th - May 10th!
Teacher Appreciation Week allows our community an opportunity to say thank you and to show our appreciation to all the teachers and staff for everything they do for our children. How will we do this? The PTA and parent volunteers are planning a very special week full of meals, special treats, and other surprises all through the week - it’s guaranteed they will be spoiled!
Class Liaisons and the Teacher Appreciation Committee will be sharing more details with you soon about how your student, family, or class can participate. If you would like to help by donating some needed items or helping with set-up and other activities during that week, please reach out to Carole Penta (email@example.com) or Joy Lagos (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Discovery Festival Sign-up Sheets
Sunday, May 5th 12-4pm
It takes many hands to make the Discovery Festival happen! Please add your name to one (or more!) of these lists to be part of the magic:
And no sign-up necessary for this, but if you love to bake, start thinking about what you’ll make for the Discovery Festival bake sale and Cupcake Walk. Sheri Castilyn (Giana, Rm 7) is your contact person for all things baked: email@example.com.
Fun Community Event: Mary Poppins Sing-Along
Please join a group of families at the Mary Poppins (original version) Castro Sing Along on April 28 at 2:30pm at the Castro Theatre. Tickets are available for purchase at http://www.castrotheatre.com/singalongs.html. Come in costume!
Patty Debenham (Owen, K) will save seats in a section for New Traditions and folks from Laurel Hill Nursery School. It would be helpful if you email her at firstname.lastname@example.org so she has an idea of how many seats to save.
Join the Good Eggs fundraiser this week to help our school win $500!
To enroll, just visit schools.goodeggs.com, enter our code FONT2019, and place your first order. The fundraiser ends April 30!
This week, new customers also get $25 off with our code, and if 20 new customers join the fundraiser, our school gets a $500 fundraising bonus.
Rainbow Grocery (No Effort Fundraising)
Do you shop at Rainbow Grocery? Did you know that Rainbow will donate 10% of your spend back to New Traditions when you shop with a Scrip Card?! Please email email@example.com if you would like the PTA to purchase a Scrip Card on your behalf for $20. You will simply reimburse the PTA for the initial $20, and from there you can add whatever amount you want to the card. Just bring the card with you every time you shop at Rainbow and use your Scrip Card to pay for your groceries.
Needed: Volunteer to lead tours in the fall
We’re looking for someone - or perhaps two people, if you work well as a team - to take on this role. For most parents, the tour was critical in helping us to envision our child at New Traditions. Would you consider being a part of shaping that experience for next year’s prospective parents? Please reach out to Sheri if you’re curious: firstname.lastname@example.org.
