There’s a seat for you on the PTA Board

 

Would you consider volunteering to serve in one of the four open positions on the PTA Board for the 2019-20 school year? The PTA Board is responsible for considering the needs of all students at New Traditions and guiding the discussions and decisions about how to invest PTA funds. We need your voice in the discussion to make sure we’re being intentional and serving all students!

 

Open roles include VP of Communications (that’s the one who composes and sends out this Dragon Den each week!), EVP of Contracts, Treasurer, and Financial Secretary. The PTA board meets monthly at the school, and your children are welcome to accompany you (feel free to bring their corresponding electronic device if you wish), so you don’t need to have childcare to attend meetings.

They can also provide detailed job descriptions for you to consider. If you’re curious but a little intimidated...please reach out anyway! Reminder: ASP Spring Enrollment ENDS this Sunday

Sunday, March 3rd @ 6pm, to be exact - so, just a few more days to enroll your child in an after school program class!

*Admin Fee Updates:

The On Site Coordinator role has been brought under the employment of the YMCA. This change was required to address several issues. It will lead to an increase in costs to fund that position. The admin fees have been adjusted to $10.00 per class in order to account for the increase in costs.

*Dispute Resolution:

Parents are reminded that the courses in the After School Program are conducted by private contracted organizations. As such, if the children report concerns about conflicts, missing items, or other difficult or concerning situations the parent’s first contact should be with the program instructor. Homeroom rosters provide a complete and detailed contact list for instructors and organizations. ASP coordinators request that they be cc’d on correspondence related to these types of issues as continual review of these programs is important.

The Auction is Almost Here!

 

We’re only a week away from the Auction! Tomorrow is the last day to buy tickets at the Early Bird price of $50 per person, after that tickets will be $65, so buy yours today! Please remember this is a community event, so if a $50 ticket is not in your budget, we would still love for you to attend. Feel free to reach out to either Ms. Alderete or email auction@newtraditionssf.com if this is the case and we’ll arrange for a complimentary ticket.

 

Online Catalog: Have you seen it? The Auction catalog is packed with so many awesome things (seriously, it is)! Bid on everything from your favorite restaurants, to summer camps for kids, to wine tastings and hotels to Giants Tickets and more… You can also support teachers and classrooms by purchasing a Fund-A-Need to contribute towards purchasing items, or support a fun community mural project for the middle yard! Online bidding will close on March 2 and items that have not reached their “Buy Now” price online will be at the March 8th event for further bidding.  

 

Seeking Volunteers on March 8th: We have several opportunities for volunteering on March 8th at the event. Most shifts are an hour long or less so you won’t miss any of the fun. Other Auction Reminders

We are still collecting wine donations (minimum $20 value): Carole Penta is collecting wine at morning drop off. If morning drop off isn’t convenient, email Carole (carolepenta@gmail.com) or the auction committee (auction@newtraditionssf.com) to arrange drop off.

 

Rent a Speakeasy Outfit and Earn $50 for New Traditions. While dressing up for our auction is never required, it can be a whole lot of fun. A full costume rental, regularly priced at $125 will be discounted by 20% to $100 and half the proceeds will be donated to New Traditions! We need someone to run the end-of-year raffle! Is it you?

 

Want to make a big fundraising impact? We are looking for an individual to run our end of year school raffle. This is a time limited commitment over the next couple of months. We have several prize donations already so responsibilities mainly involve coordinating tickets sales and collections. We know many kids here love to play soccer, especially during the summer. Now your kid’s summer of soccer can also benefit all New Traditions kids with a generous donation from SoccerInsight.
