After School Enrichment (ASE)

We offer an expanive offering of ASE courses to meet the needs of all students interested in participating.  From chess to Yoga to French, there is sure to be something of interest.  There are approximately 15 classes to choose from with each session running for 7 weeks, 4 times per year.  Most of these classes run until 5pm and with the exception of a few courses, all ASE programs are supported by a YMCA staff member.

YMCA Before School and After School Program

YMCA Before School Program begins at 7:30am and After School Program ends at 6:30pm. Programming is for K-5 students and is provided on the New Traditions campus by the Buchanan YMCA.  Our YMCA staff collaborates with school staff to provide a safe, fun environment for your child(ren). The programs are fee-based, and we can guarantee a spot to every interested family. There is no waiting list and full/partial scholarships are available.  *Unfortunately, the YMCA is not able to offer drop in services.

As part of the YMCA After School Program, all enrolled students will get to participate in one of the daily ASE classes at no additional cost (with the exception of Renegade, Ceramics and French).

Please follow along with the instructions below for registration as the registration process has changed from previous years.
  • Step 1: To register online (advised), please click here and follow the prompts to begin registering your child/ren. While it is possible to registerwith the packet only, it is highly recommended to use online registration as it is the most immediate way to secure a spot in the Before/After School Program as long as "Step 2" is completed by Friday, July 26, 2019.
  • Step 2: Once you have completed the online registration, you will need to physically complete the attached registration packet and submit them to the YMCA staff at New Traditions or to the Buchanan YMCA.
  • Step 3: At the beginning of the 2019-2020 academic school year, families will have the opportunity to choose which ASE classes they are interested in and YMCA staff will assign students to these classes according to individual student interests.
